i am blessed. i bounced my car over a curb i didn’t see. blowout. on christmas eve. i limped into a liquor store parking lot, and there was an empty handicap space – i have a sticker. i pulled out the spare and the jack. no jack handle. called my son who lives across town, and he said he was on the way. meanwhile a passing stranger showed me how to use my leatherman instead of a jackhandle. it worked, but not well. the stranger rummaged in his trunk and found a screwdriver that was better. we had the blowout off and the donut spare on by the time my son showed up. lowering the car, we noticed that the donut was almost flat (2 psi.). my son, who is fond of tools, had a battery operated inflator in his truck, so we could blow up the donut to 34 psi.
…and i made it home.
god bless the kindness of passing strangers!
and thank you god for blessing me with the finest son a father could ask for.
as tiny tim once said “merry christmas and god bless us every one!”
