Then you talk about it ahead of time. Like what percentage your going to tip.
I guess best for everyone to get a separate bill less someone’s buying.
One of my friends complains kids these days. Her son and daughter in law were going out once a month and expected them to pay the bill. So could be worse.

Now watch out if you have Ivermectin and people out there don’t prepare for the possibility of getting sick or taking something to prevent it.
My youngest daughter asked me if I had any “ extra” for two of her older friends who got it and one doesn’t have insurance when monoclonal antibodies came up they should take.
I told her there’s no “ extra” in the tubes. People need to prepare ahead of time but they can buy a tube off me for cost because I’ll have fo replace it. I have more but want to keep it that way. The prices keep going up.

Interesting info. Re the guy that didn’t like to tip. How about the guy that takes charge of the bill, adds up what each has to pay, but gives a ridiculously high tip?

I myself never noticed somebody leaving early and paying for less than they consumed. A friend of mine that doesn’t like to over pay at dinner meetings, announces from the start….”I want a separate check because I’ll be drinking a lot”

I had an engineering colleague (Scottish* BTW) who pulled that game at group lunches this time of year . He would also NOT participate in leaving a tip .

During the days you speak of , ‘Mom’ was a housewife – there to make breakfast before school ( that place we all walked to – and from ) and lunch at mid-day , not to mention the family evening meal . Meat and potato meals – with only one wage earner , not two . I lived within broadcast range (via rooftop antenna) of Detroit . I remember dealerships there advertising brand new full sized Fords , Chevy’s and Plymouths for $1500 …and no sales tax , either . Ramblers less than that , and the Nash/Austin Metropolitan around $ 1000 ?

*My family on both sides is 100% Highland Scottish , on this side of the Atlantic for over two centuries .
