RE: the Invisible Hand of capitalism
Mr. Copper,
I hadn’t heard this term for a long while.
Reading it in your post reminded me that I used to say it to my Commie Lib friend all the time.
We would playing a particular card game, and if the game started out “Even Bid” I would say to him “just watch – the Invisible Hand of Capitalism work it’s magic”.
And it did! It was unbelievable how often the game ended up with NO LOSERS
invisible hand, metaphor,
introduced by the 18th-century Scottish philosopher and economist Adam Smith, that characterizes the mechanisms through which beneficial social and economic outcomes may arise from the accumulated self-interested actions of individuals, none of whom intends to bring about such outcomes.

Some plans and ideas work good for the short term, 30-40-50 years, but bad for the long term. I remember reading something about a President asking Lord Maynard Keynes about an idea or plan or solution, (for the depression?) “But what about the future with this plan”? He answered, “In the future we will be dead”. I think Mr. Market, or the invisible hand of capitalism, is now back in charge for the solutions of the present day problems.
