I’m fact I don’t think they like all these foreigners moving in. They changed to income requirements to much higher and and messing with passports to certain city’s one being Cancun and Mexico City maybe more. Not the one city I like best so far but have to stay off the tourist busses.

All sorts of info is coming in. Changing it to like 2 weeks, one week, one even got only 2 days. These are just tourist. So when traveling there pay attention to what date they put on your card.
They threw a German National in prison because he didn’t realize they did that. They take all their belongings. Plus if your deported you can’t go back get your things even a pet so have arrangements for pets. While there in deplorable conditions also hot and would have to wait hours to get water they weren’t allowed to contact their embassy. They say you can have a couple calls a week of you get them but most don’t memorize numbers and there was a problem only local calls. The only reason he got out was someone snuck a cell phone in and he got a hold of his sister and she called German embassy who got him out in 6 days. I don’t know if that was 6 days after or total time there. He said there were other innocent people in there for the same thing and one was still there after a year. Thry don’t have due process courts the guards just do what they want. They can’t reach the outside fir help. He was trying to help someone still there he made friends with. He thinks they were getting more money for locking people up. I’m guessing they don’t let them go to court because it would expose the internal corruption of the passports and what they’re doing.
It seems coordinated. The stamper of the passport really has no authority to change the legal amount of time you can stay in a country. So there’s internal corruption going on that needs attention. Not saying the people of Mexico are all corrupt there not but just hard working people and many welcome tourists because it helps there economy, their infrastructure and creates job and business opportunities and there situations. But the gov don’t like us having own guns for self protection if you live there.
They pulled that in California some years ago making money off locking non violent people up. They wanted another jail and bigger one in a city south of me so started arresting anyone they could and went as far as Hawaii to bring back someone with a warrant even though it was just traffic ticket or something to cause overcrowding coupled by corrupt judges and DAs in kangaroo courts and long sentences even if innocent and or exaggerated sentences. Probably the worst place in the country. Of course then they’d have to look for people to fill it as word got around. Didn’t seem to be immigrants less criminals either.
Then they put it on the ballot for more after they got a backlash for that and it was quickly voted down. People knew what they were up to, things get around and practically everyone knew someone caught up in it plus privatized forced labor for profit.
So now I’m guessing they’re getting even by going the other way and not doing anything about violent criminals robbery’s and looting.
So anyways if you go there pay attention to the dates for return less you can take care of that first or keep in mind running over to Belize then get a extension if you have to. Keep phone numbers in your head including your embassy in their city and maybe a lawyer to call. Don’t believe anyone telling you it’s no big deal if you over stay your visa.
Oh another thing they pull on the long term who want to live there is renewing it. Some places just as corrupt. One said they told him, this young couple if they want it processed in a few days it will cost them 1200 US. They were shocked by them demanding bribery or extortion I would say , passed on that and it wound up taking a year.
