I hope so, in a quake you can lose your home but can salvage not all but many things. In a flood you lose about everything you didn’t take with you.
Buygold Maybe find out what numbers to call or links for help. FEMA will reimburse for lodging or expenses your insurance doesn’t cover.
Another state but the numbers for FEMA are Gov on it.
There are housing voyagers too. Probably got to start early there’s gonna be a lot of homeless people from this. https://www.fema.gov/fact-sheet/you-asked-can-fema-reimburse-me-my-lodging-expenses
I feel so ..I dont know what since so many in Fla are suffering ,but I was suffering holding Gold for many years while they were enjoying the Fla sunshine ….So I guess everybody gets a share sooner or later .

The next 24 hours will certainly see flooding around me .
If the eyewall was south of BG’s home , he may return to a miraculous surprise . The windflow is counterclockwise so North of the eye , winds are out to sea and can produce negative storm surge pushing floodwaters out to sea locally . There is a term for the phenomenon which escapes me for the moment .

Underwater. News said there’s a house floating away with the roof off.
Hope those young ones stuck in it can keep climbing and the roof holds. It was all preventable.
Maya thanks, yes and your post and Goldie and Alex helped me make the decision. I think we could have handled a Cat 3 and 8 ft. surge, but then it changed to a Cat 4 and 12-18′ surge and that was it for me. Would have been tough to stay with water in the house with two dogs and the wife.
Maddog – hope you’re right about that. I need about 5 more days of this, be nice if we started to build steam from here and see some $50 & $100 days. I’m not sure why the sterling was up on the QE news, I’d have thought the opposite would happen.
Ipso – we did seal everything up as best we could and I think we could withstand 3 ft. of standing water on the outside. Above that and it’s all over. Maybe God will surprise me.

I’m glad you missed it. That town you pointed out no longer dry is beautiful.
All that sea life and coal. I didn’t understand what word meant looked it up to find it was a town. Unfamiliar names around there.
Looks like Alex could get some heavy rain later and water as it heads to the Atlantic side towards Daytona.

Well that’s cutting it close. Guess you had to check first. Please tell me you got your fur babies out too. That’s one thing that needs a little more work with emergency’s that take pets without crates in a emergency. I’m sure all the sounds are going to stress them out and as their instinct is to get away they’ll want to be with you instead of a kennel somewhere else anyways. Thinking you know better lol
My youngest daughter told me to go on tic toc. She said there’s live feeds. Some young Hispanic people waited too long, are now stuck in the flood zone doing live feed of the water coming in. There up on a balcony and people are asking them questions and water moving back and forth below them.
Yep they kept raising the hight of the surge but close enough since yesterday not to change where it’s coming in.
I don’t have tic tok app. to watch how these people chose to die.
I wonder who that was at your back door.
Maybe checking if anyone’s home before they break in.
Glad your out of the flood zone. Isn’t that something. Just buy a house and a Hurricane. Well I learned one thing if I ever decide to move there’s check for flood zones. Sheesh
Wil get windy and loud but your out of its path.
It was a last minute decision. If I had waited another hour I couldn’t get out. I’m in a Fairfield Inn in Hillsboro. A little windy but not nearly as much rain. We’ll shack up for a couple nights.
They were talking about an 18’ surge tonight at high tide.
I fully expect to lose my house.
Looks like we’re having a good day. Hopefully this lasts more than a day

“Spoiler alert: there will be nothing temporary about the return of QE, as the moment the BOE even thinks of ending the bond buying yields will explode right back to where they were. In effect, the BOE just became the first central bank to admit that it is trapped, and the only other option left is to raise inflation targets to 3%, 4% and so on.”

This Is the Way the World Ends
“The bond market has gone south, and that spells The End for the great game of financialization. The bond market is Moby Dick compared to the little blowfish that is the stock market. The global money system is based on bonds, which are… what? That’s right: loans… promises to pay you X at some future moment. So, what happens when a daisy-chain of promises-to-pay gets broken? Or, perhaps more precisely, when all those promises lose their last shred of plausible reality? Why, the money that these broken promises are denominated in loses its essential cred. Trick question: how much is worthless money worth? (Answer: not enough to pay for a can of Schrodinger’s cat food.)”
We got out about an hour and a half ago headed towards Palm Beach if you can’t find anything there will head towards Miami get out of the storms path appreciate all your thoughts and we are safe. Don’t know about my house now water was almost coming to the door when we left
