Manipulation bring the stock up it has to be sold? Wash is buy and sell and can do that too but has a different purpose on tax time as far as I know.
They manipulate it by okay let’s use gold 5000. Oh then I’m holding till it gets to 5000. Meanwhile they sell at 4000 or in this case 1600 or something.
People see the bids and asks coming though and then the market maker starts moving the numbers and people start buying. They have dummy numbers “ carrots on a stick” above but sell before it gets there.
