The future was pretty damn obvious for me, after seeing all the stores started hiring foreigners from around the world to fabricate Americans consumer products. Everybody here was “wealthy” before 1975, when the stores hired Americans to manufacture our needs.
So the US population (customers) gradually got poorer after 1975 as the retail sector, stores, got very wealthy using cheaper foreign labor, and they kept expanding while their customers were contracting, less work lower wages lagging inflation.
So the people were zigging, (wealthy) and the stores started zigging (wealthy) as the consumers started zagging (poorer) and the stores kept on zigging (wealthy) until they noticed “Gee we have way too many stores compared to spenders what do we do now? We start importing more immigrants”.
That the new news ya know. News grows. “We have a shortage of cheap labor, and we need immigrants or it will kill our economy”. The business dominated system we have likes cheap labor and materials. That old agenda caught up with big business.
Now its the US Gov’t needs higher wages and profits in the USA to tax and function. Big global businesses will probably contract now, its getting harder for them to get away with that these days. Especially having things made in China appears to be ending.
