That was a great childhood.
I used to get up early catch the trout too but while camping and add If make myself a trout breakfast too. That’s before I knew about the Mercury in Calif.
Also one of my grandfather had a pet deer mother died or was abandoned who loved me and follow me everywhere. Thought I was his side kick but he’d get rough sometimes with deer play and let him know I don’t have a rough hide for those feet of his.
He too was killed by a hunter who didn’t know about him when a friend who was allowed to hunt on grandpas land took a friend but didn’t tell him.
Just a few miles up the road either way you’ll need chains.
I wouldn’t think about driving up there now plus it’s prone to land slides on HWY 50 way.
My youngest though just got her stuff ready to go up there soon as she can.
Hope the ski bunnies think twice right now but probably closed.
I have some last minute shopping and my youngest daughter borrowed my car cuz she got a flat tire.
Want to grab a couple of things at the store. My daughter says it’s packed at Walmart but I’m not going there. Shoppers still out everywhere here.

4 years of my youth (1948-52) was spent at Lake Tahoe where my step-dad was a State Park Ranger. I recall one winter when it was a good thing the outside door to our cabin opened inwards because we had to tunnel our way out so we could open a path through the snow….But overall it was a great experience for a kid.
One school day each week during winter we had mandatory ski lessons at Granlibakken Ski Lodge. https://granlibakken.com.
On weekends our mother was a waitress at the warming hut at the top of the chairlift at Squaw Valley Ski Resort so my sister and I got free skiing all weekend.
During summers I got up early and went fishing, and almost always brought back a limit of Rainbow or Speckled trout for breakfast when the rest of the family got up.
We had a pet fawn we named Zay. It’s mother had been killed on the highway so we bottle fed it until a neighbors dog chased it into the lake and it drowned. :o(
That’s where I learned to love nature, it shaped my character and my future and IMO why my life has always been Silverngold.

You know if you look at some of the bozos they’ve always been like that,incompetent, anti American and or on the take like Biden. Since people here didn’t wake up and get them out of office it’s easy for these criminals watching on the sidelines that still don’t know what their doing because everything they do winds up a disaster to take advantage of it.

Yes, they are actual or wilful lamebrains, but they are puppets, and their bosses have an underlying agenda. These globalists know that their main goal is to destroy the US. Most Western countries have these same WEFFERS in their governments and institutions, trying to herd us into Agenda 2030 and a one-world government. They don’t care how much their citizens suffer in the process. Any sane American knows that the Imposter In Chief is leading us to an orchestrated disaster.

No clear plan on anything with these scatter brains just lures and excuses for money and votes making a mockery out of everything and learning the hard way.
They need to close the borders period and deport the ones they let in. We have enough of our own poor they’re not dealing with they don’t have enough resources because of fiscal mismanagement and special interest down the line. All about the party no matter how bad, compromised, corrupt or incompetent.
If some of these country’s don’t take them back stop sending them money. They’re their problem not ours. Our country is not a dumping ground or welfare state. Citizens who get welfare have been cut back so far because of it that can’t survive in it or find a place to rent. Now same for those on low income jobs, limited income or disabled.
Then any money that is given these countries for their poor we should get something back in return with trade. No more free lunch to corrupt countries. We should also put regulations that require poof the money is going to the poor, not their back pockets. Put up their own housing projects and food distribution free school breakfast and lunch for children and free medical clinics based on income. . . Find jobs for them because of their habit on wanting to stay on it even if they don’t have to per their own gov argument on why they don’t help them. But there too happy to get rid of them and send them here. We want to see the results.
Get our own energy resources going or hold them criminally responsible for willfully holding back or misusing these resources that cause harm to our citizens, infrastructure or agriculture. They can’t use their climate change excuse because they failed to provide a reliable and affordable alternative but instead willfully left them without.
Require Ukraine to formulate a workable peace treaty with Russia or no more help. They also have resources they can use to pay us back. Not the big guy but the tax payers. Zelenski violated the peace treaty warmongering and now right of Russians living there. He started this war and is profiting off of it. We want receipts and or physical prof of where the money is going.
