Building permits beat estimates handily, weekly jobless claims also beat.

The big one is the Philly Fed. Manufacturing report. Came in at -23.6, line that up with the Empire State report and it appears that business has fallen off a cliff.

up almost 1% but it’s been beaten down so much it could just be a dead cat.

Copper miners FCX, RIO & BHP are all down after yesterday’s weakness. Palladium is down, getting downside follow-thru from yesterday.

SM futures rolled over, although the Naz futures are up slightly. Europe is higher across the board, a little less than 1%. I suspect Europe will take it’s cue from the US market, and if we have problems they’ll turn south.

The 10’s up 4 bips after a few unbelievably crazy sessions.

We are just biding our time before the explosion in our pm’s.

Looks like we’ve come back to flat after being down all night. The USD is helping, down 1/2% after a big day yesterday.

The usual Thursday eco data is on deck, but jobless claims are generally mute. DOW futures are up 60 pts. but is probably on shaky ground.
