To chase or not to chase, that is the question
Everything is working, what could go wrong? To be honest, I don’t see anything right now. Rates are falling USD falling, Emerging markets have been performing again, China is back to blowing another credit bubble. Why not? Other countries are trading in Yuan.
Only thing is the scum, can they muster a reversal here. In recent times not as easy to do for them and at higher levels. They’ve got us pinned at $1940 but I don’t see how it holds, and with last years top around HUI 330, we have some catching up to do.
Other than being overbought, I don’t see much in the way of resistance to 330. Is it possible we could get there without correcting? Geesh, that’s alot though. The charts of HUI, GDX, GDXJ are fookin’ beautiful. Cup n handle, no?

Re the shorts…the silver ones have no idea of the pain that is coming their way.
Dunno the No’s but this smells of an inflationary melt up, turning into hyper inflation
anything solid is going to be bid, bid and PM’s will out bid ’em all.
CPI – the biggest, most important report in recent history for all the marbles, and the verdict is….
It’s a beat!!!
0.1%, 5.0% respectively vs. est. of 0.2% MOM, 5.2% YOY
USD tanking. Gold the lion roaring, Silver solid.
The shorts are getting bitch slapped yet again.
The big cities and their progressive rulers have laid waste to the cities, who will be left to feed the people? That’s when we have real problems in certain states, as the predators will/have move to the suburbs
“The simplest explanation is that collectively our Chicago stores have not been profitable since we opened the first one nearly 17 years ago – these stores lose tens of millions of dollars…”
Going out on a limb
Best we get is flat into the report. There’s a lot riding on this and I’d imagine longs and shorts are in Oxy/booz benders to calm the nerves.
The Fed minutes from yesterday indicated dissent from some of the Governors about raising rates again. Regardless of this report, they will pause IMHO.
0300 EST
Well shux, I’m surprised. Silver up over 1%, gold up $13?
USD basically flat as are rates, so no help there.
All the action starts at 0830 EST with the CPI report. Nothing matters until then.
PM’s recovering nicely as I write this .
Au over $2020 and Ag gaining over 1.4% from the close .
I think our day is coming , but lots of notable posters from the old days have fallen by the wayside during the lean times .
I miss Farmboy’s stories . Met him and his lady at a Waffle House in Daytona once for breakfast .
Also miss Florida Gold . Had dinner with him as well , at an historic restaurant close to Ormond Beach in the northern part of Daytona he had recommended years earlier . Great food , but I think it has changed owners and name since then . I wonder if any from the forum ever got to play a round of golf with him ?
I wonder what Dr. Vronsky is up to these days ?

BTW I think it runs in family’s cus my youngest daughter who started learning to swim from her dad as a baby. My case it was just if I was in the mood to go but could get addicting. Her dad USMC grew up in Hawaii where his dad was stationed,
When she was 11 she wanted to either do martial arts or swimming. First I took her to the college where the kids practiced for competitions. The instructor was iffy and said well the kids were older more advanced right now for a beginner. He said something about trying her out and put her with two of his best swimmers. Asked if she could swim the length of the Olympic pool and back. Yep Well this instructor yaw just dropped.
She didn’t even know she was racing the other two and just swam normally taught by her dad and was there and back by the time his two best swimmers got to the other side. I wondered just how good this guy was? I told him she’s deciding between this and martial arts and I can’t afford both. He was still shook up and said well maybe I could get her a scholarship. She decided to pass and did martial arts her dad also did when he was in Hawaii. So in a few yrs. she was a assistant instructor on some forms and other little chores like the phones and learned from a grand master for free.
Still the males should not be competing with them just because they can’t beat the best of their own gender.
Maya – I was at a similar age when I found that I could hold my breath for a long time
but it got me into trouble once . I was a sea scout – just a Canadian version of boy scouts , but we wore a uniform copied from Navy uniforms . We learned to sail as well as the usual BSA woodsy lore , badges , etc.
During the summer months our weekly meetings were held in a building of our own on pilings in a swampy portion of the yacht club property and sometimes the Skipper (Scoutmaster) would take us to the dock area where the water was about 20 feet deep and toss bottle caps in for us to chase . He knew I could deep dive and asked me to dive to the bottom and bring up caps that had settled there . I did , but after a couple of dives to the bottom got a sudden splitting headache . Don’t know to this day what that was .

I got to know some of the pro surfers and the father of Hobby Hawk surfboards, his son another pro. My average under water was 2 1/2 minutes and could easily swim under water the Olympic size pool and back.
But yet with some of these pros that was nothing. When they did the big big waves 50 plus feet they called the Mavericks you were playing suicide ride if you couldn’t hold you breath for 4 minutes.
