By the way they have medicine for that I was told by the vet. I didn’t learn that until she was dying at 15 1/2
But I don’t if it could cause retention and in humans that would cause UTI’s and possible kidney infections so I’m guessing would be the same for dogs. You’d have to ask and what it was and lookup side effects.
