June 8 (Reuters) – Newmont has suspended operations at its Peñasquito mine in Mexico in response to a labor strike notice, the gold miner said on Thursday.

On June 7, the Union notified Newmont of a strike action demanding an increase in the uncapped profit sharing benefit provided for in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) from 10% to 20%, the company said.

I believe its widely known that all commodities are priced in US Dollars. So, if everyone buys Dollars one day, it automatically pushes the other currencies inverse down. Or up like today with people or the news causing selling of US Dollars, pushing all currencies up.

I have a nightmare that 20 years along folks will be here at the Oasis cursing out the mining stocks and the dastardly gold price riggers!

Our dollar will only buy 90 centimes Swiss , i.e. FS0.90 .
…and has slid from buying about 5000 Colombian Pesos a few months ago to about CP4200 now .

Yet if you look at the 10 year POG , an ounce is not as high as two previous peaks .

Look at yesterday’s gold chart and the corruption is obvious .

I’m not sure what will inspire the shares, I guess much, much, higher prices for the metals.

I don’t play with the juniors anymore. Ipso probably does as well as anyone. Sure, you can get a big win if you pick the right one among thousands, but to me it’s just not worth losing 95% on 95% of your juniors.

I’m at a different stage in life, can no longer afford to gamble.

I am still hoping to see a long base created by staying within the recent few weeks trading range depending on what chart you are watching.   Base case still remains this is a wave 2 correction but since it has not gone as I expected my confidence level has dropped.  I wish I could call a bottom but other than it likely being a fib retracement, I am waiting for what looks like an impulsive move followed by what looks like a corrective move using a 10 minute chart.  I feel we are close so I have added a bit here and there after lightening a week or so ago.

Regardless, if my group of positions as a whole turn negative I will begin paring regardless of my bull belief.

One thing about the game yesterday, run the stocks up and the run them down to hit where the stops are.  The players (or the algos) know where and how much stops are and use that to bleed the investors imo.  Not that my positions are big enough to matter, but if I were to use hard stops, I would place them at an unusual choice – not below some fib or common ma or ema.

Just musing as I decide whether to sous vide the flank steak or green egg it.

I think I understand what you’re mentioning about what it will take to finally generate some real interest in these lagging PM shares……..

Some of these companies have been releasing phenomenal drill results ( NFGC), and yet they just languish….

My major holdings ( LOMLF, ESKYF, ELRRF, GOTRF, NKGFF, DOLLF, IRVRF, NSRPF), couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag….
