If you could generate the electricity to charge it, the gauge of the wire would be like dragging an anaconda around to plug it in.
Try that on a cold day. The cord gets stiff.
In aircraft they drag massive “extension cords” from generators to the aircraft for ground power — the things weigh hundreds of pounds.
