When I started driving in in California in 1957 gas was 15 cents per gallon.
When I left Alaska in 1975 Gasoline had just increased to $1.00 per gallon.
When I arrived in BC Canada in 1975 gas was only 44 cents per imperial GallonĀ (5 quarts) or 33 cents US equivalent.
Yesterday gas in BC Canada was $1.89 per liter which equates to about $7.50 per US Gallon or $9.45 per Imperial Gallon..
No consideration has been given for exchange rates which have reversed from about 1.35 one way to 1.35 the other during that time FWIW!
