I have no idea, other than as a sign of virility……or more likely to encourage people to hold Dollars, which in turn helps sell debt, as the Dollars will be put to work in the rate mkts……but essentially as a sign all is well…as lets face it the entire scum scam is a mirage designed to hide the mess, they have made of the joint.
Whatever the reason, the Dollar keeps a bid at all times no matter the news
