Per your conversation a bit ago … When I was in high school one of my friend’s father had a generic type bolt action hunting rifle with a symmetrical bulge in the barrel towards end of the muzzle. The father had loaned it to a friend to go hunting and the friend had gotten snow in the end of the barrel and then fired it. He was lucky it didn’t explode in his face! I’m sure this flaw did’t help the accuracy of the rifle!
