Hey that reminds me with that purchase I buried I also put copper 30-06 bullets in with it. I still have them. It was good actually I guess when I ran into the pipe but took off work work didn’t discover the leak till the next day when my dog was using to for a drinking fountain and realized oh no dig them up and had to dry each one individually out of the containers and the bullets that kept their color but do you think it got into the bullets? I still have them I hope their still good.
To me it’s always been real ie phyz I saw the games early as wel as the big turns no one believed but the market is a hobby. Also there’s other priorities even before PMs.
Good idea what you did but hope no lurker reading this finds out where your cottage is. Good idea about the pvc pipes. Your right about silver and when a hurry one day I found out the white containers they put the silver in aren’t waterproof. Maybe some what water resistant but not if a pipe breaks and likely my fault whild doing it in a hurry. Yikes
Hi Bob – thanks for your reply and good advice, but unfortunately I am approaching an age where at some point I will need to convert physical to fiat to pay my living expenses.
My plan was for the mining stocks to do that job with dividends and capital gains, but the only people that made out with mining stocks have been the short sellers and the company managements.
I’m still convinced that fiat Ponzi scheme is nearing it’s inevitable demise, so even their 5% interest doesn’t interest me.
What I am looking for is a trustworthy, insured vaulting service that can serve as my bank. Texas and Utah have talked about doing it, but i don’t think they have actually done anything.
For quite a few years I buried mine on my cottage property and covered the location with a large boulder to forestall detection by metal detector. The area is remote and very difficult to access, and traffic was non-existent.
My hoard is all coins, so size wasn’t a problem. If you plan to bury the PMs install them into a PCV pipe with threaded ends, screw on caps using a non-hardening sealant as thread seal. If it’s gold only water leakage won’t matter but if silver the threads should be watertight.
Maya, a big thumbs up on that. In this rigged world of corruption and greed the only winner will ultimately be the stacker IMO!
Goldielocks, if you’re happy making and losing pennies while your broker is making dollars off of you and all your trades, I wish you luck and success. Just remember that the rig is designed to fleece the unwary, and the “markets” are now a rigged casino but no longer a market IMO!
All the Best from Silverngold
Good comments – all well said.
A question re: “Go Physical”.
But not a good idea to keep more at home than you’d be willing to give up.
So if a person were to go physical in a big way where would a person store it?
All the vaulting services have exclusions in their insurance policies to protect them in case of “war; riot; civil insurrection; etc.” exactly the scenario that we are likely headed for. Most vaults are just glorified warehouse – hardly the impregnable fortresses portrayed in movies.
Any suggestions?
That is a confusing subject because your shares are supposed to be protected in a trust but then other things on the subject says they can be borrowed with commission but also can be stuck paying and dividends coming up so another reason the shares go up if shorts are getting out at that point and then get back in after the shares have been paid then profit on the drop. I wonder those who pay divis every month have less of a problem with that compared to paying quarterly to one time a year.
Not everyone has a margin account though but if you know what your doing especially if you trade every day you can make a lot of money.
Of course we are! Anyone who cannot see that has cognitive dissonance problems.
With apologies to WOPR: The only way to win the game is to not play.
Stacking physical is “not playing”. Paper burns.
On Line Brokers are consolidating/merging together. Why? Maybe because they have become extremely profitable? But How/why?
IMO it is because those On Line Brokers still offering their “services” have been “convinced” to allow those super computers, like Blackrock’s Aladdin, access to all their trades as they happen, as well as access to all the available margin accounts, like yours, not being used.
From there it is a simple computer program to make the opposite trade that the On Line Broker’s client has made. For example, you buy 1000 shares of XYX stock and the Super Computer sells/shorts 1000 shares of the same XYZ stock, thus cancelling your purchase.
Or if XYZ stock is meant to run up, the Super computer also buys it, using your own unused margin to do so.
In this way the Super computer has absolute control of all the markets, the On Line Broker becomes extremely profitable, and all the trades are covered using your own margin account with no naked shorting.
Something to think about if you’ve been wondering why the behavior of the markets has become so bizarre and make no sense.
Are you being played? All FWIW!
That was rather stupid and doesn’t bring any confidence to new management and what they’re doing about the problems of now. Hopefully the company will survive despite that person. And your right about any portion of government which is like management changing hands you never know what your gonna get.
GORO would still be a buck if Palmiere had not opened mouth and and blamed mine problems on previous management. Any old goro management sold there shares the next day and didn’t care what they got. Only good thing going for that back forty Michigan project is that there are no federal mining laws in Michigan That doesn’t mean the local governments won’t screw it up.

That should keep the scum up at night !!!!!

know what you mean it’s sad. They’ve been working hard all these years. They kept their divi up but although it was only pennies but adds up to them with little or no reward. Demands in mining grow while they earn less and less.
They’re not in the divi trap because it’s so low you could wait this stock out or buy low.
In a uptrend it might not matter much as people want to hold the stock and not too many or the holders selling some to buy back might be okay but in a down trend it can turn into a divi trap for the longs if too many others all pile in pre divi just to get the free prize and don’t hold any longs too then sell driving the stock even lower and killing the dividend like they did Zim when too many know about it is no longer sustained and it when the stock trying to survive as a blue chip with growth potential despite the politics affecting the economy and paying the holders gets total disrespected by the scavengers like the warning not casting the pearls before the swine it becomes unsustainable carrying all that dead weight like a balcony with too many people on it.
I’ve bought Goro before and have been rewarded buying in their lows not selling at the bottom like so many do when they wait to long making it worse for both. But this time they’re saying they have been so devastated they have no direction and maybe no home after all that work. That is sad especially knowing the scum are out there doing it to that sector. .
The scum it kinda looks like they’re playing piñata with the metals by manipulating. They put it on a rope let the people see where it is before blind folded and every time they go to strike they pull the piñata up and keep doing it. Then the talking heads on saying it’s goons crash when it’s not yet and one’s saying it will be next and goes on with the this is it this time, over and over again. This noise distracts annoys and blinds people.
How many other stocks do you know go back down when the pice of their goods goes up?
Maybe now with the scum letting stores to be looted and their climate change scams.
They need to be stopped. Back in the early 1900s and before they’d be lynched. Who knew that practice could be put to good use some day.
My son in law also devastated trying to cook his first Thanksgiving dinner by himself and my youngest daughter doesn’t like cooking big meals a whole lot and was working anyways. He bought out a frozen Turkey a night before so told him it’s takes longer to defrost than less than a day with hours. So he gets a ham with directions. Well he followed the direction he told me doing exactly what it said. He’d gonna take that blank ham and it’d directions back to the store and say what is this shit!!! He went into detail of doing everything it said and opened the oven to burnt ham and foil it told him to cover with burnt up.
So much for getting a day off from holiday cooking.
My oldest daughter asked me if she could send me a dinner but I was fine and would rather have the Turkey he’s trying today or try a vegetarian meal if that fails. Lol So much hunting when young during holidays we’d have Turkey while us kids would hunt and fill the freezer with duck geese and pheasant. Now I kinda root for them to get away except areas of tradition and food not trophy so they can go back to the city and say hear I was out there in the wild and see I can survive, maybe-not but that bird could have.
I wonder how they will react when the inevitable happens and we’re knocking at $2500?
That’s a shame what has happened to Goro. When they were first building their mine I remember them talking about how low their costs were going to be on account of the base metals byproducts. Obviously that didn’t pan out.
I applaud them for paying good dividends out to their shareholders … but it seems they could use that money now …
