Loading ...Those trains remind me of my family tree. Although one branch my great great grandmother married into the Koch family who I think had more than one railroad company as founding shareholder back then. My grandfather inherited quite a fortune along with his brothers back then in stocks of what I don’t know and a estate but guess what year his grandmother also put him in law school died, 1929. He was basically a overnight millionaire, lost everything including the estate. He bounced back but never wanted that much money again I guess as far as the market but I think they’re nog in the market now as it’s company anyways.Maybe that’s why. After the war he bounced back although things were hard at first post war and he closed his business in construction and building into the Navy and with a law background that helped get his fighting soldiers out of jail a few times but after what I heard from extended family it scared me away from the market. Maybe that’s why he saw something in me as a teen that made him say don’t move up too fast. I kinda wish he would of never told me that as opportunities pass and children come along.
Anyways maybe that’s a bad sign to me I’m being reminded to remember 1929. My great great grandmother is buried in our state where she was from in the knok family plot.
