when u see NEM and KGC plus, but the AG shares pounded to oblivion, u see just how crazed the scum are…..why are they so scared……it’s not as if there are billions of us….then again there are potentially in China and India…….Keep this up and some smart Indian or Chinese analyst is gonna work out u can buy AG for a fraction of the spot price, by buying the shares.!!!!!

I bought 500 AG at the close at $5.33. Also before the close, I sold 2000 sh of NVD and swiped another $334 profit.

interesting take on AG’s volume today. I would have thought the volume would have been a lot heavier on this kind of move down, same with EXK as well. That might be a good catch on your part.

The fact that they are taking all the silvers to the woodshed and not just those two stocks seems fishy doesn’t it?

NEM is a stud today. KGC and AGI as well. I love how NEM is leading and throwing off the gold price.

I also like how we’re seeing some short covering in the metals here in the last hour. We’ve seen much worse action in the sector on a day when the SM is tumbling. The volume in SLV and GLD is below average, nobody is running for the exits, and surprisingly we haven’t given up all of yesterdays’ gains today, which is the norm.

The gold shares especially give me hope for higher metal prices. They don’t HAVE to go down during a big SM correction every time, especially since they’ve underperformed the SM for the last decade. Our biggest problem today is the dollar.

We’ll see what phony numbers and revisions come out of the Jobs Report tomorrow.

Today could be a final blow off bottom price. By looking at the daily volume bars you can see the volume is higher than normal today, and looking at the prior high volume day, it was followed by a decline.

The metals and even the shares are doing OK considering the SM reversal and dollar strength. Gold especially. We usually get the post Fed day beat down.

I agree, and the minimum wage needed today to match the $2/hr in the early 1970s would be about $40/hour today.

TGB (Taseko Mines) is predominantly a copper miner, had better than expected earnings (.07 vs.-.02) and is up some 5% in the pre-market.

Surprisingly both metals moving up a bit now despite the stronger dollar. Nothing to write home about but still unexpected, at least by me. No doubt the scum will fight them today, but maybe there’s an underlying bid coming back in.

Digging deeper into AG’s earnings, they didn’t account for $20 million in silver they have in inventory. Looks like they are trying to circumvent the Crimex and do a lot of their own minting. If prices keep going up, they’ll be genius, if not, then goats.

EXK – seems to be shaking it off, down 1% now.

Ipso – no doubt, I don’t understand that. Silver has risen more in % terms. Tough to swallow for shareholders though.

What is the actual price where these guys make good profits? Maybe it’s $50 as you say, except their earnings were better at lower prices. Go figure.

Profit wise the gold miners are sure kicking ass on the silver miners. I sure don’t know when the silver miners are going to start making decent profits! $50?

Have no idea how, but their earnings are ugly. Looks like EXK lost a million hedging.

AG getting clocked for 5% premarket – surprised it’s not worse. EXK only down 3% or so.

Don’t know how these guys do it, but they seem to do it regularly regardless of the metals prices. Both have earnings that are WORSE than the same quarter of last year. Riddle me that folks.

On a positive note, silver is now up $.06 and gold only down $6. Surprising for now, we’ll see what happens on the Crimex.

No surprises. London taking it to gold and silver. We aren’t giving it all back yet, but no doubt they’ll at least make a good dent. Gold getting hit harder down $16 as of now. Silver down $.14. Dollar bouncing back. The 10 yr got down to 4.05% yesterday. Still there this am, but guessing it bounces higher as well. SM futures mixed, QQQ’s up almost 1/2%, DOW flat.

There’s a bit of eco data out today, but don’t think it will matter either way.

So, the beat goes on, although from a little higher levels than a few days ago. Glad to see we popped above $2400 though, been a good week so far. Hope it stays that way, but won’t be surprised if it doesn’t.

BTW – Alamos Gold (AGI) also came out with earnings yesterday. I missed it. Nice beat for them $.24 vs $.19 estimates. Stock being rewarded early, up 3.7% premarket. That’s nice to see. AEM flat, KGC down 1% or so.
