Big Boy at Donner Pass last month.
Beautiful locomotive. And after all your train posts, one from my locality. Kirkwood is a suburb of St. Louis, my home town, and happens to have a lot of family history as well. The Transportation Museum is very cool; I’m sure you’d love it. In addition to train stuff, they have some beautiful vintage automobiles, too.
The No Prisoners End of the Road Election
“It’s all projection of their own bad desires, bad actions, personal afflictions to the point where the best way to tell what they plan to do is to see what they accuse others of.” — El Gato Malo on Democrats
The forward cab design and circular windows have remnants of the Art Deco period, otherwise functional design. Much as I am a romantic regarding steam, the diesel engine was a marvel of simplicity compared to its predecessor type.
But it can’t burn (or convert) coal, and the oil ain’t gonna last forever…
$50 up day, be nice to get a slew of them. $2500 might just be a big deal.
Rafi thinks we’ll still have a financial crisis this year/early 2025. Interesting. Surely the Fed has the same data, which means they absolutely know what’s coming and the repo rate figures. Pretty interesting if it comes to fruition. They will have to print a butt ton of paper gold to keep things down. He has a lot of interesting data, we’ll see how this shakes out soon enough. Very bad for the next president.
We wait for Sunday night, I figure either they come in and try to waterfall us, or we head straight to $2600. I’d be surprised if we saw small moves. If they do the waterfall, it doesn’t seem like they’ll go below $2400, we seem to have support there.
