Sovereign risk has always been important for me. But the way the lunatics are running the asylum it’s difficult to find a risk free jurisdiction. Queensland, for example, has imposed a 40% royalty up to on coal revenues. While it’s only 2.5% max on gold at the moment, who knows where the future will go if the precious takes off?
