Your right the should and also they should turn that turn signal at least 3 seconds before turning, it should be 5 but some don’t at all they should know to wait for anyone with the right of way period, no exception except the safety of the person their going to hit.

You right about all the motorcycle accidents. I guess it’s just like any sport with different levels of danger. Your aware of the danger but do it anyways. Her father knew she would ride, told me so when she was just two yrs old. He died when she 9 and I never told her about that. He was hit before too, head on and it broke his metatarsals, ankle, tibia, fibia, femurs on both sides. They used a machine to straighten his legs out without something for pain he told the guy and who ever it was told him it would give him character lol The guy was lucky he couldn’t reach him.
One of the first patients I had as student was a motorcycle accident. Some guy picked her up at a pool party offered to give her a ride home on his motorcycle probably showing some girl in a bikini off on his bike. I think that one cost him. She said the last thing she remembered was going around a corner. I asked which way she learned and she leaned the wrong way. I can’t say for sure but that’s when it happened. I started riding on the back of them very young. He was in ICU with head trauma. In those days they didn’t wear helmets. Her skin looked hamburger, road rash everywhere but would heal.
Id rather her not ride anymore in this traffic here but that will be up to her. I sent a picture of her to sng but missing the raps on her body. She’s in surgery now. He older sister was with her all day and trying to get around not riding by thinking about her son as far as getting better but I know she wants to say it directly.
I’m not sure if the weight did help but looked like it maybe giving her the second she needed because that bike was only metal left and glad she wasn’t on it. It’s better to be on the hood or over it than under the car IMO. A friends brother lost a ear and trouble with his legs because of that.
On a regular bike before being hit I jumped wound up on the hood and was glad I wasn’t on the bike when I heard all the noise coming from under his truck. He was turning too wasn’t looking till he heard the noise then looked to see me on the trunk of the car. I was pregnant with her in first trimester at the time. He offered to pay cash for the bike so I didn’t bother reporting it but told him next time watch where your going. I just had a bruise on my leg.
I will relay your message. But you know how it is, the riders will ride anyways.
If it wasn’t for the look of the bike thing bikes should have a pseudo car grill on the front. Maybe then they’d pay attention. These kids on these rockets speeding through traffic on the Freeway do make me nervous though. It only takes one car to turn on front of them.
Amazing!
Top Iranian Pentagon Official Ariane Tabatabai Is Israeli-Iran Attack Plan LEAKER Who Kept Her Top-Level Security Clearance Despite Previous ‘Spying for Tehran’ Accusations
Tabatabai os a long time Iranian operative who who kept her security clearance despite previous ‘spying for Tehran’ accusations. The Iranian-born Pentagon official kept her top-level security clearance despite being named as part of a covert influence campaign run by Tehran — and being called a “spy.”
She was not working alone. The refusal by Pentagon top brass to remove Tabatabai – and her security clearance at the very least – are complicit in this act of treason.
Iran is an open declared enemy of the United States that is prima facie an act of treason.

Goldi ……. motorcycles are dangerous anyway you cut it
Ive been riding since I was 18 ……. and still love it ……
Sold my entry Honda Shadow 500 motorcycle after 1st yr med school after seeing too many traumas in ER. Scared me …..
Got back on eventually 25 yrs ago and have been a recreational rider since, few long multi-day trips and always worried especially when riding with my son who has one of those
crotch rockets, actually Old school Kiwi Ninja 500, CR but not that fast ……
I ride a BMW R 1200 c and Triumph Bonneville T100 and lately CF Moto 800 Explore, dont know if weight matters. Antilock brakes if you have time …… is good ……
Like Copper said ….. you have to ride so defensively and act like you are “unseen”
Still my one of best friends crashed 3 yrs ago and was air lifted ….. good radiologist trauma retired now but still has quality of life with TBI and chronic pain from fractures, same
thing ……
Someone pulled into traffic from a McDonalds and he was going 50 MPH without any braking time whatsoever ever
He’s back on a Ducati …….. so life is short ……. I dont know …….. your ticket is up when it’s up …….
I hope your daughter gets along ok

I’m so sorry for what your daughter is going thru. And you too. Ya know we took the driver safety course, discounted insurance lasts for three years. I took it 3 or four times.
I know from reading the paper every day, that the left turn in front of an oncoming car is a very common accident, especially with motorcycles, and NOT a word is mentioned in the book or verbal advice.
So every time I took the test, I raise my hand and tell this to the teacher, so she can relay the info, that its not in the book. Or not mentioned. I was hoping they would add that info, but it never happened.

Probably was some idea ahead of the news and perhaps the hype that contributed to the sharp run up. Buy the rumor, sell the news. In any case, the chart was hugely extended and now is not but still looks good, if price holds in this area.

Mr Cooper
The heavier the bike the better I think. The first time she had a heavier bike that held out long enough for her to go airborne and avoid a bodily direct collision but did break her pelvis and some other injuries. This one caused multi broken bones and her leg injured pretty badly with a compound fracture meaning bones broken through the skin and bad fractures of her wrist and secondary injuries. Lot of pain and they can’t give them anything I told her that in the ambulance to the hospital till they check for head injury or breathing because she can die. They keep putting off surgery so can’t give her anything till then now have to wait 3 more hours and a long surgery of her lower leg by her ankle and her wrists. Right now I told her to just try to twilight sleep because of the pain and she’s thirsty. The trauma nurse caring for her is good and told her they have a current good cardiac team but don’t know about current trauma and she said it’s good. We all were talking and she said what she’s seeing a lot of is brain injuries from electric scooters when they don’t wear helmets. So heady up on that. any kinda scooters kids or adults should always wear helmets.
Yeah drivers same thing going the other way and just turn left right in front of them. Second time. My oldest daughter many years ago was trailing behind me once saw two different cars suddenly cut me off,and couldn’t believe it and how I avoided it. I told her because of their driving I expected them to do that and they did so I was ready for it. I got hit in a car though same scenarios left turn I had right of wat then but not in front of me but T bones me spinning the car around and she tried to run off but other cars chased her blocked her off. I was able to position the car in time to not get direct impact with the car but still couldn’t get out that door. If on a motorcycles she would of ran not in front of me but a direct hit. Tell your son to jump. My daughter remembered that last time I don’t know what happened this time if she was hit or not. She’s I’m too much pain to have her relieve that right now.
So remember bikes of any kind of AND scooters any kind a helmet and a good one.

@Buygold
I agree, you make a lot of sense. I usually have the TV on Fox Business News, and yes not that much mention of PMs.
treefrog – yes
Wouldn’t that be awesome? Heck $50 sounds good to me, but if we get there, we could go a lot higher I think.
Mr. Copper – to add
This is still kind of a stealth rally in the sector. I don’t watch CNBC so I don’t know if they talk about gold now all the time but while this is a big deal in our circles, it doesn’t seem to be even noticed much out in the general population. The shares just really got going last week and even then we’re not seeing huge buying. Locally there’s still a lot of physical supply in the metals. I know it’s different in Canada.
We are a long way from any kind of mania. I’m glad about that too.
treefrog @ 13:24
Exactly … the BRIC’s folks start talking about silver becoming a reserve asset for the “unit” and Jimmy-crack-corn the shorts are going to need a crack pipe to forget this one.
Chuckle … snort
buygold,
continuing on from your thoughts of a move to fifty; look at a 25 year silver chart. imagine a fifteen year cup with a few months of handle… krakatoa??

There was a post a little back that mentioned sitka and Snowline Gold.

Buygold @ 11:35
How would you like to be short silver today with magic number resistance at $35 closing fast?
I mean there’s gotta be a number where the knuckleheads in charge are going to start seeing profound defections. (i.e. short covering – Bank of America we are calling you … you idiots)
A two-day close over $35 would signal a progressive interval buy signal to $40. And a two-day close over $40 would signal a move to $50.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Chuckle … choke … chuckle
ipso,
whatcha think? 35 bucks by quitting time???
@goldilocks
I’m sorry to hear what happened to your daughter. My son also has a motorcycle, and it worries me. In the local paper here, I read about numerous cycles getting cut off by idiots from the opposite direction, and making a left turn across the path of an oncoming motorcycle that has right of way. Years ago I saw one happen in front of me. A jerk in front of me made a left turn in the path of a biker. Lets hope she recovers totally.
Mr. Copper – yes
I think that’s right. It’s likely to start with the hedge funds. PM’s are frowned upon in the US by the banking system money managers. Investors like Buffet and Munger trash them as non income producing assets. But continued high metals prices and steady earnings growth with dividends will change thinking. The banks and government have trashed this sector so much and made prices in the metals unreliable for so long, no one wants to touch them other than for a trade. Hopefully we’ll get there.
Thanks Buygold, Maya, ipso
She’s in surgery now. It’s gonna be a longer road back this time. And her other said back fractures too. Same as last time, some idiot cut right in front of her.
PMs hanging in there, step by step dollar to dollar.

@Buygold re 11:35 your “Not sure what would cause the SM to correct”
I’ve noticed over the decades, when one sector or group of stocks is doing great, investors ignore all the lagging things, especially precious metals and related mining stocks.
Even real estate. There are SO many inflation hedges, including bit coin ETFs etc that they created, plus prior gov’t bashing of us, that constantly drew people away from PMs.
Well if the investors start noticing Gold Silver and related high profit miners, going up and up, hopefully they will start ignoring popular stocks real estate etc, and start focusing on our sector.
