The fact they waited until the new COT reporting period that starts today, which are numbers that will not be seen until next week (Friday), one would think this weakness should prove to be short lived as short covering should limit downside to trending price action.
What’s more, with the rally in interest rates so extended now, and in need of correction, this should add to supportive dynamics as the election approaches, giving prop desks a tailwind in painting the tape going into November 5th.
So, expect a little pullback here going into week’s end.

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran and Saudi Arabia are planning to conduct joint military exercises in the Red Sea, according to an Iranian report not confirmed by Riyadh, in what would be a first for the regional heavyweights.
The two Middle East rivals, which have long backed opposing sides in conflict zones across the region, severed diplomatic ties in 2016.
However, Shiite Muslim-dominated Iran and Sunni-majority Saudi Arabia resumed relations last year under a surprise China-brokered deal.
“Saudi Arabia has asked that we organize joint exercises in the Red Sea,” the commander of Iran’s navy, Admiral Shahram Irani, was quoted as saying by the Iranian news agency ISNA.
“Coordination is underway and delegations from both countries will hold the necessary consultations on how to conduct the exercise,” he added, without providing details including a timeline.

How big of a pause is unclear. Gold is flat, silver down $.35. Seems pretty minor at the moment considering the move we had in silver.
Dollar up a little, bonds down, 10 yr. 4.23%, oil down, Bitcoin down, SM is weak. The Yen carry trade has definitely rewound itself and the dollar’s proxy UUPÂ is sitting at the breakout point, but pretty overbought with an RSI over 75. It’s at least a 5 year high, that’s as far back as I can see. In a land of useless fiat, I’m not sure it matters all that much.
