Were you talking about the US or UK for alumina? We mine bauxite and iron ore both in the US. Clearly, we’d have to increase mining operations, because our Globalist sponsored regulations are just ridiculously restrictive. We also have rare earths here. I think you’d be hard pressed to find much of anything we don’t have, we just don’t produce it at scale. We have been ridiculous allowing Taiwan to produce our semi-conductors, so yeah it would take a while to ramp up. It couldn’t happen overnight.
China did in fact absorb the tariffs he imposed, would they or any other country do that on every item? Probably not.
Could tariffs pay the income tax? Let’s cut 80% of our bloated government and take a shot at it. Try running things without trillion dollar wars, paying the Fed to print our currency, flooding countries – even hostile ones, with billions in foreign aid. Over $225 billion to Ukraine and Israel alone for their wars. We’d be amazed at how much can be cut.
Popcorn is going to be necessary in volume for the next few months, no doubt it will get crazy. Fortunately, we grow plenty of corn too. Grains should be a massive export for us, but our government pays farmers not to grow things.
