I wasn’t around for the close yesterday, doesn’t look like I missed much. Although it looks like Bitcoin went back down after rallying to flat around $97.5K, also continuing down 1% this am, just below $95K now. I guess there’s some folks willing to dump anywhere near $100K – no real surprise.

Dollar easing back a little this am even though rates are up a couple bips. Silver sitting right at $31, up $.44, Gold barely moving, up $6 and still below the $2650 level it gave up yesterday. The shares are up a hair. Of course, nowhere close to gaining back the losses of the previous day. That’s just how they roll.

Nonetheless, it is nice to see that we aren’t continuing down from yesterday and that silver has held the $30 level and is leading the way higher this am.

SM flat, oil up over 1%, Markets just seem quiet, like they’re on auto pilot. No doubt BlackRock flying the plane.

Yes cold will kill. so will heat in other places. Cash, gold, even Bitcoin. Kinda off the subject but not.  I just heard about a homeless guy in Idaho people knew, active once in the church, he wasn’t older and he wasn’t on drugs. His wife got cancer and was terminal but they still tried and held on as long as he could manage. He took care of her and was by her side the whole time and had to leave his job and bills piled up. After she died he lost his home and became homeless. He still volunteered for things like passing out Christmas presents for kids and participated in the church.

He was sleeping a camper next to a friend’s house and they found him frozen to death. It was nice people were buying him a lunch or breakfast once in awhile and spending time with him but I think what he really needed is spiritual help in the church and a reason to go on living he lost in the process. A new job and lots of support. They meant well but he lost his will to go on and really needed help and being on the giving side he wouldn’t be able to ask for maybe not want what he might think is a handout to have to make clear it wasn’t that and the bulk of it wouldn’t cost money. It’s too late now though.

Another positive with crypto is that it’s creating thousands of jobs world wide and add AI and they’re already concerned about the energy demands. Some processing companies are using alternative energy but processing isn’t as fast as others. If the power goes out in one city or state or country it will be on somewhere else. If it’s out everywhere your probably talking about a extinction event anyways. I think it’s beneficial to have both physical coins and custodial Bitcoin. If you needed for fly out of the country, how much gold or silver do you think you could get out vs memorizing your key to use Bitcoin somewhere else I think the more options you have the better.
