“Dad! I love you!
I always tell people who ask about my older-school values that I have an older father I wouldn’t trade for the world!
I had a fun conversation with my boss the other day where I admitted I’m prejudiced/biased in favor of the elderly because of the absolute privilege it has been having you as my father.
There is nobody else who could’ve ever done such a great job instilling the values of integrity, humor, unconditional love, authenticity, kindness, and accountability in my life like you did. These lessons and characteristics have been monumental in my success and I know, with conviction, they will continue to guide me through life in such a way I can always have the hard conversation when it needs to be had while simultaneously focusing on identifying the problem and providing a solution. “Be hard on the problem and soft on the person.” I also don’t kiss any ass and ironically, that’s only gotten me respect from those around me, even if it means calling out shit for what it is!
I am the happiest I’ve ever been and I know this is only the beginning of what will be a transformative life marked by evolution and service to others. “If you ever have the chance to help someone, just do it!”
Thank you for being my greatest mentor and friend in this lifetime. I love you more than I could ever articulate, and can’t wait to see what I can accomplish through the wisdom I’ve acquired from watching how you operate while also guiding me to be the best I can. “
