Maybe we’re to assume then that gold is trading as if a re-valuation is coming. Market players seem to assume that it will be at much higher levels as they buy every dip, small or large. The big question is the when.

I read your comment on the Luke passage. You were taught correctly, it means exactly that, one person taken, one left. The only thing maybe your friend alluded to was separating the wheat from the chaff, or if she meant literally one crop failing and one harvested. Either way, Jesus was talking about people – believers and unbelievers, not crops. The harvest being heaven.
