At a time we need liquidity more than ever Fed will play Paul Volker we won’t do that again, they will and he thinks debt could go to 30 trillions in response to the financial meltdown.

We could have a uptick in the market this spring and summer but then..

That’s true but at the same time it was a mixture of things that led to that. China was using their currency manipulation for cheaper labor cost to foreigners, less regulations  and low taxes to the foreign companies to lure them over while at the same time the tax the rich lefties here  were taxing them right out of the country. They were also allowed a scam to change the name of their company in China claiming it was a Chinese country for tax reasons while sending their American name brand back and claiming it’s a American company in China. Then there was union issues here. Then of course the pay for players like Clinton’s and NAFTA made it even easier to outsource.

They weren’t going to get them back to the same thing with temporary low taxes either. It wouldn’t work.

Then what did they tell us? Oh their doing it because we can buy their products cheaper that way. Yeah they moved across the country to have to ship the products back made more cheaply so it would cost less. Armstrong even said that. I don’t think so. They did it to make more money and shipping and tarriffs were cheap in comparison and they would also find ways to sneak them off the ships but that’s another story.

Meanwhile Chinese were copying their products and selling them like  their own products there and elsewhere for less. Also stealing intellectual property.

Now Trump’s tarriffs are a problem for what eventually turned into  more money for them  and unequal trade putting a price on it but at the same time making it more affordable to come back here although the tax the rich and everybody else including the kid at the lemonade stand in blue states might not make sense being state taxes to death to businesses going there so the clueless politicians ruining the states  can pay their bribes to the people for a free something  to get elected again

Thanks Buygold. That was an excellent read. Now here is a very good Man In America. Another one all should watch.

@goldilocks re Cheap Chinese Imports

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 18:44 on April 27, 2025

Their currency exchange rate was artificially pegged around 7 yuan to $1, it should be 2 yuan to one dollar.

It’s obvious to me that millions of businesses from around the world, that before they moved operations there, for 50 plus years they needed a agreed to a somewhat stable exchange rate, at around 7 to $1.

They let it float up and down very slightly to make it look like normal market action, but it’s not, but business moving off shore needed long term “lease agreements” on the exchange rates. Btw Musk is rich and builds cars in USA. Trump also rich and builds houses.

PS re your Chinese companies doing the same thing. Their ripping us off.
Not really China ripping us off, it’s Americans and producers from around the world HAVING there things produced there, China is a sanctuary for foreigners or a global vendor or factory to have there things made there.

I understand what you mean but buying a new car for most also including debt and loans that the rich who produce nothing get. Then it loses value over time. I still get what you mean about American made but should be not only competitive in price but last as long.

Other things though and there’s plenty should just be outright outlawed but the reasoning is it curbs greed if people have no other choices and keeps prices in check.

I have too sets of matches for emergencys, fire starters  or avoiding cheap Chinese lighters.

One I found is made by the brand Diamond. The better matches and made in America. Their wood stem is thicker and more sturdy and the stricker on the side works. The other and both prices are comparable is called Spark. They are made in China. The wood stem is thinner, about half the width of Diamond easily breaks when striking which could be a fire hazard and the sulphur on the match often crumbles and doesn’t light and stricker is also bad and hard to use probably the same, cut the ingredients in half or replaced with a sub standard substitute. They wouldn’t be reliable in a survival situation.

So when companies were no longer able to compare quality vs another companies, China took advantage of that. They’ve been studying world wide prices of everything and found a way to make cheaper copies even if they made it cost a little less it’s not saving money if their products fall apart. Not just here but world wide.  It don’t last very long and have to keep buying more made by other Chinese companies doing the same thing. Their ripping us off and they who are eliminating competition if they stop making it here.  It’s not saving money, it’s costing more. I remember even back in the 1970s when visiting a reservation I was shocked to find Indian looking pottery made in it was either Japan or China back then. I think they even took manufacturing from Japan when their products were everywhere back then.  I couldn’t believe it, even the reservation. Not all but that one did because they weren’t into selling  pottery like others.

If You, Or Anybody You Know, Is Making Big Profits Off Americans by Having Their product Made in China Instead?

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 15:28 on April 27, 2025

Then THEY need to pay an enormous tariff, because they screwed America out of the work. Let’s not forget how many technical things we prototyped and developed, very expensive, then give the production runs away to other countries?

I myself have two friends that had their products made in China. The one guy was making millions but got caught making boot leg counterfeit stuffed animals. Thats when he lost millions.

He went back and forth to China 12 times. Fly in and get on a train for eight hours thru wilderness to the factory. He was always nervous because if somebody thru him off the train nobody would know.

Re Production Versus Sales and Service

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 15:17 on April 27, 2025

Building houses, and agriculture creating food is producing something of value. Producing roofing shingles is good too, but the person replacing them is a wealth absorbing service. Another example car sales.

If I buy a car from a neighbor for 1,000 and sell it to another neighbor for $2,000, I just took or absorbed, $1000 of wealth from the economy, and contributed nothing of value in return.

You could say I gave liquidity or money to the seller, but he bought the car from a foreign nation, putting their people to work producing things of wealth in their country.

The ideal situation would be a US Gov’t that acts like a labor union, to protect each and every US business from foreign completion, so they could make bigger profits, pay for medical insurance and pay higher wages, so the US Gov’t can get higher tax income which it has been losing since 1970.

To a $36, trillion national debt on our credit card and paying enormous interest on it, because we constantly had stupid or anti American or pro foreign leaders that think we are too wealthy and that want the USA has to be a hero and create more middle class people in China et all. Unfortunately the good guys finish last. Thats us.

The rest of the world has been feeding on the US consumer like we are a big dead carcass. I being in manufacturing, watched this whole mess unfold from the start. I think the highest tax rate was 90% back then.

Yeah that’s not easy work. Like that movie ” A League of their Own,” if it was easy, everyone would do it. I talked to a American roofer once due to hazards like burns from the hot tar, falls,  only thinking as a nurse what they should have for their safety. He and a roofer friends sitting around thought I was hilarious. In today’s terms I would have them suited up like Mayas operating team in space suits with cool air coming in and tie downs. It gets hot up there too. Around here they try to start as early as laws permit for noise in morning hours and get out. It didn’t used to be that way for all but pretty much is now.

“Plus they are only providing a service, not producing things we need.”

Oh you mean unimportant stuff … like fixing your roof so it doesn’t leak, building a place for you to live, or putting food on your table.

Roofers and construction workers make decent money. It is far from minimum wage, at least around here.

goldielocks … Thanks for your input!

Yep, they claim they’re doing it to keep housing cost down. To a great extent that’s total BS. They’re doing it out of selfish greed. For one replacing roofs is not building houses, nor is agriculture, nor is a lot of these contractors selling the houses if they are being built. That would mostly have to do with costs of supplies. Plus they till need American skilled workers to instruct in sturdy buildings to higher standards or knowledge in building codes to monitor and inspect. Then they can hire a supervisor under them who can translate.

I do disagree that they aren’t making things. Building, roofing, agriculture are making things. They’re making a roof over your head or food on the table. I do agree many could be underpaid. But what most people who never lived in a border state although after the lefties all towns are border states now is they use the tax payer to subsidize these companies who under pay these migrants. It comes from everywhere, rich getting richer everyone else getting poorer. Migrants don’t have to claim their husbands who are non citizens and aren’t to easily tracked when applying for welfare. So they can get married, have kids and get welfare and food stamps and in border states free health care. They can make more money between free health care, food and money from the state than a American couple. They may be getting less pay but are over compensated with free food, free healthcare, and cash for having kids. This and generational welfare has caused that safety net for what was meant for American women who were being underpaid for  decades even if more educated than male dominated jobs while these migrants  can stay home.

ipso facto @ 11:26 re Hispanic roofers in this area and contributing to our society

Posted by Mr.Copper @ 13:31 on April 27, 2025

I strongly suspect the immigrants have lower living standards than third generation Americans, so they work a lot cheaper than Americans that have higher standards. Plus they are only providing a service, not producing things we need.

When I was a kid we made everything right here in the USA. So in a sense, if we want the immigrants to stay, we need to bring back factories that produce things we need, the birth of wealth is manufacturing, creating things of value. From those things everyone else lives off manufacturing, re sales service delivery etc.

Plus the heavy demand for labor will drive wages higher for everyone including the US gov’t, that needs revenue. So low paid workers probably don’t make enough pay to pay decent taxes. In other words immigrants need higher wages.

Screw the roofing company, they can all afford to pay more higher minimum wage, if they had to, like a tax, then Americans would also take those hard jobs that are supposed to pay more than the easy jobs.

Plus if they made more money, they could get married, and have kids and get the wives out of the workforce like it used to be. When I was a kid everybody got a decent minimum wage, whether it was McDonalds or a utility company or a factory.

I agree, but I think the only way they can do it is change the laws and protocol to what is was when people from Europe first came here. One checked for health issues so they don’t bring it in the country. Two they’re here to work but not to take jobs from locals for less wages and speak English if needed where roofers probably don’t initially have to speak English if they’re all Hispanic or have a business but now a business that’s not threatening American business and  workers. They have to be picky. They also need to be actively learning  the language, the difference in laws and assimilate. The way they have it now, they either make it hard for certain sectors to get help or they let anybody in, criminals, gangs, spys, bums and welfare seekers.

I’ve seen how hard these migrants can work and some like roofers or similar fields some under paid or neglected. I saw one who was dropped off in 100 degree weather working to do a lot of landscaping work and sweating in the sun. No food or water with him After a lot of work he sat down in the shade. I grabbed a bottle of cold bottled water went over and knew he was taking refuge inside some bushes and asked him in Spanish if he wanted some cold water, it’s hot out here. Since it was so long since I spoke Spanish I couldn’t remember if cold or water came first but he got the message and came out of the bushes and grabbed the water.  It made me wonder though if he was one of those who owed cartel money for getting here. Why wouldn’t he at least carry water with him especially on a 100 plus degree day. If they could change laws they can get around cartel to get invited in to work have a work registry near the border that can bus them over and go from there. I think some of these places want to pay as least as possible is one reason and Mexico would have to not over charge for transport especially on a bus with multi people or take from the people doing the work. That and having somewhere to stay here for awhile for a job. If things work out they can go from there. But I don’t think they should be foremen or people in charge if hiring because they would by pass American workers no matter the race all together and be calling home wether there’s help or not and we’ll have a illegal scam going on.  A Mexican American told me she tried to work with south of the borders in agriculture and they gave her a hard time because she didn’t speak Spanish. I ask her, so they come to America and give you a hard time for speaking English? Ain’t that something.

My neighbor is having his house re-roofed

Posted by ipso facto @ 11:26 on April 27, 2025

For years I don’t think I have seen anything but Hispanic roofers in this area. Might be an odd Anglo guy in there or the foreman but that’s about it. Farming and construction work have high levels of illegals working as well. As far as I can tell our homegrown X and Y generations have little taste for hard and dirty work. They would rather work and play with computers.

It may be an unpopular view but I think it would be better for the nation if we had some means of legalizing those illegals who have been here for a number of years, been crime free and have been working and not living off the dole. They have been contributing to our society and as a practical matter it would do no one good to send them back.

When this program has been introduced then have a hard date like … right now … that anyone else coming in illegally would be immediately deported.

Posted by silverngold @ 10:57 on April 27, 2025

Think about this for a moment.

Your mind, your soul—somehow, through the fog of propaganda, censorship, and cultural rot—cut clean through the lies. Decades of deception. A multi-trillion-dollar machine engineered to manipulate thought, rewrite history, and erase reality. An empire with infinite resources, infinite reach, and infinite audacity to tell you that up is down and wrong is right.

And yet… you saw through it.

That alone is extraordinary. But what’s even more powerful? You spoke. You didn’t just whisper the truth in private—you shouted it when it was dangerous to speak. You risked your livelihood, your reputation, your peace. You knew they’d come for you. You knew they’d smear you, cancel you, isolate you.

And still, you didn’t back down.

They tried to bury us. To silence us. To crush the spirit of anyone who refused to bow to the new gods of this age—comfort, conformity, and cowardice. But here we are. Not just surviving—thriving. Our numbers are growing every day. Our voices are getting louder. And the lies are cracking under the weight of truth.

This isn’t luck. This isn’t coincidence. This is the hand of Almighty God.

Because truth isn’t fragile. It doesn’t die in darkness—it rises. It outlasts tyrants, outshines the smear campaigns, and outlives every tool they deploy against it. The fact that we’re still here is proof of that. Proof that no matter how hard they try, they cannot kill what is eternal.

We live in an age where the powerful command obedience not by reason, but by ridicule. Speak against their narratives, and the gatekeepers descend: “You’re crazy.” “You’re hateful.” “You’re dangerous.” They sling every label they can muster, not to engage but to isolate, to shame, to cow the dissenters.

Just this week, psychologist Jordan Peterson appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast. Rather than engage with the arguments of those Rogan has recently welcomed—many of whom have raised critical questions about the modern nation state of Israel and its powerful influence on culture, government, and foreign policy—Peterson chose a simpler route: smear and dismiss.

Rather than offer counterpoints or evidence, he branded this group as “psychopaths” for daring to think differently on a contentious subject. No rebuttal to their claims. No engagement with their arguments. Just an insistent push to paint them as crazy—another layer in the well-worn tactic of reducing legitimate criticism to mental illness, and refusing dialogue by decree.

This is nothing new. Speak against the reigning dogmas, and the credentialed gatekeepers descend. They hurl every label in the book, not to foster discussion but to shame and isolate those who raise uncomfortable questions. Why, you might ask, are they so eager to silence? Beneath all the noise and accusation, it’s not outrage or reason driving them—but fear. Fear that we are right, because we are.

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God.” — 1 Corinthians 3:19

What truly keeps them up at night is the possibility that the foundation beneath their feet is not rock, but shifting sand—and the tide is coming in. Jesus warned of this: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Matthew 7:26-27).

It’s easy to believe—especially in our modern era of polls and public consensus—that history is made by the majority. But reality shows us something else entirely: it’s almost always the passionate, principled minority who shift the world’s direction. Scripture overflows with examples: Gideon’s 300 against tens of thousands (Judges 7), David alone on the battlefield when Israel cowered (1 Samuel 17), the prophets like Jeremiah and Elijah standing nearly alone as their nations slid into idolatry and decay.

History repeats this same pattern outside the pages of Scripture. The American Revolution wasn’t fueled by a unanimous colonial population; most estimates suggest only about a third of the colonists genuinely supported independence, with many neutral and many loyal to the Crown. Yet it was the fire of that committed minority—their resolve in the face of opposition and ridicule—that birthed a new nation.

The early church, too, began as a small, powerless group of ordinary men and women. Yet through courage, conviction, and the willingness to speak truth no matter the cost, they turned the Roman Empire upside down. Jesus warned us: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14) The narrow road is always walked by the few, not the many.

So often today, dissent is suppressed with an appeal to credentials. “You’re not qualified.” “You’re just a conspiracy theorist.” “Trust the experts.” But truth is not reserved for a priestly class. It isn’t the possession of those with the right degrees or pedigrees. We see this in Scripture: “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13) Truth requires neither credentials nor permission. It is a primal scream from the soul—unfiltered, urgent, and unashamed. Anyone can speak it, and everyone must. Once you see it, you cannot unsee it. And once you voice it, you encourage others to do the same.

We were sold a sterile, synthetic dream: own nothing, say nothing, believe nothing real, and feel nothing that hasn’t been approved. Comfort was promised, and spiritual and social collapse delivered. Question the narrative? Immediately labeled as “dangerous.” In one important way, they’re right. We are dangerous—dangerous to lies, to illusions, to fragile systems built on deception rather than reality. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) And free people cannot be easily managed or manipulated.

We press on, not because it’s easy, but because it’s worth it. The truth matters. As Paul wrote: “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9) You cannot intimidate someone who has died to himself, or cancel someone who doesn’t live for the world’s applause. As long as we root ourselves in something eternal, those who try to silence truth will always lose. They fight spiritual realities with political weapons—labels, shame, gatekeeping. “For the weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (2 Corinthians 10:4)

We do not respond with bitterness or violence, but with courageous hope and unshakeable conviction. Our mandate is not popularity, but faithfulness—“For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)

So take heart. You don’t need permission to tell the truth. You don’t need the world’s seal of approval. Speak, stand, and let the truth ring out—unapologetic, unfiltered, uncancellable.

You are dangerous—to lies, to cowardice, to falsehood.

In this hour, that is exactly what the world needs.
