If you read the charters on ETF’s they state they TRACK the underlying securities or commodities they represent but they have no obligation to buy, sell, or even own any of those securities or commodities. They are strictly DERIVATIVES in which you can buy or sell shares for a management fee at the current stated price…… but you own NOTHING.
So, my bet is ETF’s are the control mechanism TPTB use to maintain absolute control of all markets, make money from you while doing so (management fee), and have no obligation to do more than return whatever money the shares are worth when you request it. In the mean time they can and do use your money to control the markets. All IMO and FWIW. I personally refuse to use them.
