Nathan’s girlfriend, Andrea, asked us to share the following:
“Nathan Cirillo was the most energetic, positive and happy man I have ever met. From the second he woke up to the moment he went to bed he was smiling and trying to make sure everyone else was smiling too. It breaks my heart that our future together was taken from us in such a violent, senseless way but his memory will live on with me and those who knew and loved him and every wonderful person that is sending us their love.
He was the best boyfriend I could have asked for and I will always love him with all of my heart. For those of you who didn’t know him, this is the kind of person Nathan was; standing in the kitchen deciding what we would have for dinner, my heart suddenly swelled with happiness over spending time with him and I said “I just want to crawl up into your shirt and stay with you forever” and without even a moments hesitation, like it was the most natural thing in the world, he pulled his shirt over me and popped my head through the neck hole next to his and just held me. I still smile (and cry) every time I think of that moment. Nathan would go above and beyond to make sure anyone he cared about was happy and I did everything I could to do the same for him. He deserves to always be remembered as the beacon of light that he really was. RIP Nathan baby, I love you Big Bear and you will always be in my heart.”
