Kinda reminds me of my first visit to NYC as a teenager .I was with four friends all teenagers from NJ. There was was a situation while we were crossing a street …There was a man down on his luck lying in the gutter all wet and dirty ,people were stepping over him to get where they were going ,cars trying to avoid him.My friend Joe bent down to lift the guy up and get him out of the gutter and safely sat him on the side walk . When some native New Yorker shouted “Why dont you Take him Home with You ” ? I was sort of taken aback about how HARD life was in NY compared to NJ at that time…I was jolted out of adolescence and realized I better make sure things never get that bad for me. I was 15 (1953)at that time but I was determined I would never be without money or so drunk that would make me end up that way ! It was a trip I never forgot ! I never liked NY after that even though I later did a lot of business there and met some good business people there .I learned from them ,but it was a tough environment and I KNEW how bad things could get if I wasent carefull. That Chicago incident was a cruel reminder .
