Looks like we need more power. Portrait of a Giant. The largest rigid frame steamer ever built. (Challenger and Big Boy were larger, but they were articulated frames) These were called ‘the 9’s’ because there were nine wheels on each side, in a 4-12-2 configuration. Union Pacific had 88 of these monsters for hauling freight across the midwest.
