another tropical depression appears to be forming in the key west/havana area. tropical depressions are low grade hurricane-type storms that don’t develop the destructive winds, but often bring massive amounts of rain. this is the kind of thing which caused the recent flooding in baton rouge and the surrounding area.
…well, here comes another. it’s a little too early to know how strong this one will be or just where it will hit, but indications are that it will drop a lot of rain on somebody on the gulf coast later on this week. the forecasts i have seen show it landing further east than the last one. alabama? florida panhandle?
i live in the florida panhandle 🙁 on high ground 🙂 the porch is three feet above ground level. the ground floor is a foot above that. an inch an hour gives us big puddles in the yard – even for several hours continuously. some of our neighbors are not so well situated.
sometimes it’s good to be a frog.
